Design House Model
In this model, we act as a pure design house for our customers and our embedded
design services are fine tuned to meet the customers expectation.. The various steps
involved are as per the following:
We develop the embedded hardware prototype, port the embedded OS, create BSP and
develop embedded applications.
We integrate the embedded hardware and software and ensure that the system performs
as per the customer’s specification.
We prepare the BOM and the vendor list and submit it to our customers.
We transfer the entire IP upon acceptance from the customer
We optionally get involved in the manufacturing of the initial few quantities (
ranging from 1 – 100 units ) just to give enough confidence to our customers about
the product
Benefit:
Customers can get the product developed at a fixed cost.
The entire product IP is transferred to the customer subsequent to the product acceptance
Customers get a flexibility to opt for the manufacturer of their choice and also
a volume of their choice.
Customer doesn’t have to incur any recurring expenses.
Costing
We optionally get involved in the manufacturing of the initial few quantities (
ranging from 1 – 100 units ) just to give enough confidence to our customers about
the product
Royalty Model
Customers are encouraged to opt for this model if the cost involved in the product
development is on the higher side. The model ensures that the entry cost is reduced
to an acceptable level for the customer. In this model, we develop the product as
per the specification of the customer and get it manufactured for our customers
through our network partners. We retain the IP of the product till a certain volume
for the product is manufactured from us. Once the manufactured volume reaches a
pre-decided level, we let our customers take control of the IP and the entire operation
that they would like to control.
Benefit:
Customers can get the product developed at a highly reduced cost.
Customers get an opportunity to focus and allocate their budget on their core areas
of operation.
By the time the IP is fully acquired, it becomes a time tested
Costing
Customer has to pay an initial NRE charge towards the product design. Once the product
gets into manufacturing, a percentage of the total manufacturing cost is charged
as a royalty fee for each unit of the product.
OEM Partnership Model
In this model, we treat our customer as our partner as the very nature of the engagement
mandates a partnership model. We typically get engaged with our customers for a
certain tenure as a partner and get into an agreement to officially endorse the
partnership. We design the product as per the specification provided by our partners.
We make the entire product including its packaging and let our partners ship it
under their brand name. Our goal is to enable our partners to meet the high demands
of their customers and achieve time to market with the highest reliability, quality,
and cost effectiveness.
Benefit:
Partners can channelize their entire resources on marketing the product and leave
the rest including designing, manufacturing and logistical issues to be handled
by Oasis.
Costing
The product price and the minimum order quantity(MOQ) shall be defined in an agreement
between the partner and Oasis. Partner has to pay in advance for the MOQ as per
the agreement. NRE charges and any initial investment in this case is completely
waived of.
